The Ozzman is back! I hope you didn’t miss me too much…I’m such a lovable guy! Even though I am writing this week I promised my brother I would keep his word and represent the felines as there has been a lot of dog talk from us the last few weeks. Now for news about the cats!!!

I wanted to tell you about this super cool program the APL has with local pet stores! We understand not everyone can make it to the APL to find their new feline friend, so we’ve made it easier for you! You can stop a local Pet Supplies Plus or PETCO store and adopt an APL cat! The adoption process is just the same as if you were here at the APL! And what matters most to Kobe and me is that the folks at the pet supplies stores take just as good care of our cats as the staff and volunteers do here at the APL. The give them lots of love and attention, and we cats love that! Here is a list of local stores that adoptable APL cats are in:

I spend a lot of time with Carrie, our Offsite Adoptions Liaison, well mostly taking a nap in her office, but she did ask me to mention she is looking for cat care help Monday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings at the Middleburg Pet Supplies Plus. If you are interested in volunteering for this opportunity, our cats can use your help! If you are already a volunteer just ask Carrie for the details! If you are not currently a volunteer, you can come to the next volunteer orientationon March 27, 2010, here at the APL. The orientation starts at noon and you will learn all you need to about our volunteer program.
