November 19, 2009

OzzyHi everyone, it’s Ozzy.  I know, finally, I am awake.  I am going to take a stab at writing this week.  I realize I spend a lot of my time here sleeping, but if you would see all the cuddly beds Kobe and I have, well you would take lots of naps, too!  Here is some great news!  At our certified pre-owned cat promotion at the shelter and at Ganley Volkswagen/Subaru in Bedford last Saturday, 48 cats, 4 dogs and 1 cockatiel got adopted!  Thanks to everyone who welcomed our friends into their families.

Help Our FriendsWe are sad to say our friend Lego did not get adopted.  But we assured her that she would find her perfect match.  In the meantime she will continue to get a lot of affection during her stay at the APL!

Kobe and I would like to personally thank Donna, an awesome volunteer who helps in the office on Saturdays!  She brings us treats, gives us plenty of rubs and love, and even lets us pose for photo sessions.  "no photos please!"All of the photos of Kobe and I that we post on our blog are taken by Donna! Thanks Donna! You wouldn’t believe how tiring being a model is!  Sometimes I just don’t feel like having my photo taken.

Speaking of photos, your two favorite APL cats are featured in the APL’s 2010 Calendar!  The calendar features photos from our area’s much loved pets!  Very proud moms and dads sent in photos of their pets and have the chance to be “pet of the month”. This year we had over 5oo entries and our 2010 calendar is lovely!  The calendar is only $10, and that goes to help our friends here at the APL. The calendar is a great gift for the holidays.  Shhhhh….. Don’t tell my mom, but I already got her a copy.

Don’t worry if you didn’t get a chance to enter your pet in this year’s contest because the APL is already taking submissions for the 2011 APL Pet Calendar contest.  All you need is to take a photo of your pet and fill out the entry form.  There is a $25 registration fee, and your pet’s photo is guaranteed to be on the pages of the calendar.  All of the proceeds from the calendar contest help animals at the APL.

Kobe SleepingWow! With all of this writing I am awfully exhausted!  I don’t know how Kobe does this each week.  I think I’m ready for a nap too!  Don’t forget to check “Cats’ Eye View” next week to see what else is happening here at the APL.

Love and purrs,
Kobe and Ozzy
