Black & Blue 5: The Fur “Brawl”
A benefit for our furry friends at the Cleveland APL
Saturday, November 20, 2010
Wolstein Center – Cleveland State University
2000 Prospect Avenue, Cleveland
You’ve heard of the Fur Ball. Now get ready for the “fur to fly” at the Fur “Brawl” when the Burning River Roller Girls go claws to paws to benefit the Cleveland APL!
Burning River Roller Girls are Cleveland’s premier roller derby league, comprising of over 120 skaters, referees and officials – all volunteers. There are four home teams and two travel teams, one of which competes for national ranking.
For Black & Blue, we divide the league into two large teams: Team Black and Team Blue. This year Team Black will represent cats (Black Cats) and Team Blue will represent dogs (Blue Dogs). Simply cheer for your favorite pet team!
Halftime brings you our most anticipated annual tradition: Full Contact Musical Chairs where our new recruits engage in a no-rules battle for the coveted empty chair. It’s what we call the “Fresh Meat” rite of passage! Who will win the crown this year?
Tickets go on sale October 1st. Only $15 for adults and $6 for children age 12 and under.
A generous portion of the ticket sales will be donated to the Cleveland APL.
Best of all - adoptable dogs and APL merchandise will be available!
